1 34th IGC Travel Grant Scheme: Further information and application process

Specific funding is available to provide Australian and New Zealand geoscientists in the early stages of their careers with opportunities to travel internationally to further their careers as geoscientists by, for example, undertaking field work in appropriate areas, visiting and working with appropriate international experts, inspecting appropriate mines or other geoscientific features such as type localities, participating in professionally-organised geoscientific conferences or conventions, etc.

2 AGC Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship Program

The Australian Geoscience Council recognises the need for a specific scholarship for the support and encouragement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to participate in and advance geoscience in Australia and internationally.

Commencing in 2020, the Australian Geoscience Council will offer two scholarships of $5000 each to two undergraduate students engaged in completing a geoscientific undergraduate course at a University in Australia.

3 AGC Lee Parkin Australian Geoscience Information Association Grant

The Australian Geoscience Information Association (AGIA) has established the Lee Parkin Grant which supports research that explores the potential for the further development of geoscience information & data management in Australia.  The Grant offers up to $2500 for the successful candidates.
